Who We Are

Welcome to Initiative on North Korea (INK)!

We are a US branch, locally run by a group of students in Fairfax County, VA, of a South Korea-based North Korean human rights organization called SaveNK (SNK). Our mission is to provide young North Korean defectors with a better opportunity to pursue their goals by providing them with free online classes on English and STEM-oriented subjects, such as Math and Computer Science.

More about SaveNK

SaveNK is the second longest-running North Korean human rights organization in Korea. Since its establishment in 1999, SNK has carried out various activities to improve human rights in North Korea. SNK’s key activities include the influx of information through medium-wave radio broadcasting, spreading awareness of North Korean human rights by holding and providing international conferences and documentary productions and screenings, and support for North Korean refugees’ settlement by providing vocational education and scholarship projects. As the chairman was appointed by the Korean government as a board member of the North Korea Human Rights Foundation, SNK is expected to participate in government projects even more actively
